Great insight into Trump, his Cabinet, and his enablers!

Much truth with humor and rhyme。 Lithgow summarizes the many comings and goings of the former President's staff along with his many lies and distortions。 Humor with insights。 Much truth with humor and rhyme。 Lithgow summarizes the many comings and goings of the former President's staff along with his many lies and distortions。 Humor with insights。 。。。more

Hilarious。Jarring。A bookmark in time that conjures memories of the cabal of POTUS supporters。Listen to the audio to hear Lithgow's emotion and humor come through。 Hilarious。Jarring。A bookmark in time that conjures memories of the cabal of POTUS supporters。Listen to the audio to hear Lithgow's emotion and humor come through。 。。。more

This is one of those books that is just kind of fun and silly and really at this point in time it's all in good humor。 It's in the past now so it's okay to have a laugh。 Not that it wasn't before but now it's okay to have a laugh with a big deep sigh of relief。 I'm not going to go all political and stuff, even though it would seem like you wouldn't really read this unless you either leaned one way or just wanted to complain about the content if you know what I'm saying, but it's now a little bit This is one of those books that is just kind of fun and silly and really at this point in time it's all in good humor。 It's in the past now so it's okay to have a laugh。 Not that it wasn't before but now it's okay to have a laugh with a big deep sigh of relief。 I'm not going to go all political and stuff, even though it would seem like you wouldn't really read this unless you either leaned one way or just wanted to complain about the content if you know what I'm saying, but it's now a little bit easier to breath。 Especially with 2020 out of the way and Covid slowly finding it's way。。。 well it's getting a little bit better for many。Anyway this book is a lot like the first one if you read that。 It's John Lithgows poetry about the state of the administration that came before the current one。 It has some very funny parts and it also has a few slower parts or, if you are like me and weren't every fully following the whole previous administration, parts that you just might not really know what exactly is being discussed。 Still, easy enough to research if you want or just read it and enjoy the ride。 You can also get this on audio book to accompany the book so you don't lose the silly artwork of the book but you get the narration by the author。 It's another way to go about it。If you read the first one and liked it you should like this as well。 If you haven't read the first one you can still read this one but you may want to read the first one anyway just for the fun of it。 If you are reading it just to leave a bad review, well that's weird but alright do your thing I guess。 I liked it well enough and had a good time reading it。 。。。more

I usually don't read political opinion drivel。 I also don't usually read poetry。 I read this rag, cover to cover。 Because someone asked me to。 So honestly, I wonder if he'll recant some of these since some of his claims have been proven 100% wrong? So, yeah I read it。 He should stick to children's books。 He claims to have focused on rhymes but by gods this was some of the worst poetry I've ever read, solely from form perspective。 90% of the time in order to pull off the rhymes he had to invent w I usually don't read political opinion drivel。 I also don't usually read poetry。 I read this rag, cover to cover。 Because someone asked me to。 So honestly, I wonder if he'll recant some of these since some of his claims have been proven 100% wrong? Most definitely。 His need to target the sitting POTUS and have it published tells you the totalitarian dictator wasn't。 Could you imagine him giving the same treatment to parliament or the queen and not being thrown in old Bailey for unkind language? TDS ravings of a man who sucks at poetry and applies a harsher standard for Trump than was applied to previous presidents in terms of everything from taxes to pardons。 How do I get the 40 minutes I wasted reading this back? 。。。more

"Verses for a despotic age。" - As much as I enjoy John Lithgow the actor, for the Poet, a warning should be inscribed on the entrance gates。 But rather than the ancient line of abandon hope all ye that enter, the modern verbage perhaps should read: "Facts need not apply" "Verses for a despotic age。" - As much as I enjoy John Lithgow the actor, for the Poet, a warning should be inscribed on the entrance gates。 But rather than the ancient line of abandon hope all ye that enter, the modern verbage perhaps should read: "Facts need not apply" 。。。more

This was of course a huge critique, and I loved it。 Fun read

I didn't remember a lot of who these people were。 Glad for the blurb about them at the bottom of the poems。 I didn't remember a lot of who these people were。 Glad for the blurb about them at the bottom of the poems。 。。。more

As Lithgow says in the introduction the poems are an attempt to make sure T’s history is not rewritten or forgotten。 Bravo!

Diogenes

Cute。

Samantha Craddock-Gretzinger

Another outstanding collection to make light of the tyranny we all lived through 😅。 There were definitely some memorable poems and overall it is a great read, the only reason I give it a 4 is because I think his first volume was a little better and had more variety of scandal to satirize!

Margie

More amusing and spot-on poems about Dumpty, his nefarious underlings and his sad excuse for a brain。

Ellen

Great poems with superb language! I’m sure an audio version of this read by Lithgow would be excellent。

Kristy Vargo

A great example of satire, regardless of your political beliefs。 Very well researched; upholds freedom of the press (we love to see it)。

Beth Polebaum

It is shocking how Dumpty distracted us from one scandal by moving on to more egregious ones。 Mr。 Lithgow does us a great (and humorous and talented) service! And to think the great scandal of the Obama years, that the Republicans couldn’t get passed was his tan suit。

Lucy

John Lithgow is a national treasure。 I highly suggest the audiobook。

Kelly

Educational! And funny! LOL!!

Joyce

John Lithgow is not just another pretty face。 In addition to being one of my favorite actors he is an erudite and talented writer。 His writings are funny, biting, and spot on。 The only reason this is not 5 stars is I am not a good reader of verse。

Helen

This is another fun book to read about Mr。 Trump as our President。

Aprilleigh

More of the same from the first book, Dumpty。 Some of the pieces are pretty good, others are just clever, and quite a few reminded me of events and people I had forgotten in all the craziness that has been the last year and a half。 The illustrations, all by John Lithgow himself, are even more delightful than the poems。

Venka Anderson

A humorous book of prose and drawings of 45。 A charming epithet of a horrible 4 years。 Delicious enjoyment。 Thank you Mr。 Lithgow。

Paula

Very amusing and very clever, very comical and very serious。 Poems to be enjoyed and laughed at while reading, yet also to be seriously reconsidered so these historical events will not not be repeated。Each and every piece of poetry is apropos and a truthful review of some very dark times。 Thank you John Lithgow, for shining a light on some of the unbelievable events of the last four years and doing it in an entertaining way。

Linda

When I heard John Lithgow had written another book of poems about 45's administration, I immediately requested it through my library, but it took until now to get it。 It has been months。 A lot of rhyming poetry presenting the many foibles of the people working for DJT。 In case, it had been too long, each poem is followed by an explanation of the reason for the poem。 When I heard John Lithgow had written another book of poems about 45's administration, I immediately requested it through my library, but it took until now to get it。 It has been months。 A lot of rhyming poetry presenting the many foibles of the people working for DJT。 In case, it had been too long, each poem is followed by an explanation of the reason for the poem。 。。。more

The trump presidency summarized in verse, with sketches!

Nichole Dawn Romero

This one was just as great as the first。 Taking more of Trump's decisions, and events that happened during his presidency and make them hilarious。 All though the events themselves were very serious this book is phenomenal in giving awareness of events in a lighter manner。 This one was just as great as the first。 Taking more of Trump's decisions, and events that happened during his presidency and make them hilarious。 All though the events themselves were very serious this book is phenomenal in giving awareness of events in a lighter manner。 。。。more
